Every student’s journey at the U is different—and that’s what makes it worth celebrating. In honor of this, the Center for Community and Cultural Engagement is hosting the annual Celebrating U Completely Graduation Event, which recognizes the connections, experiences, and communities that shape those journeys. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 6–8 p.m. in the Union Ballroom.

It’s that time of the year where the University of Utah campus experiences a growing buzz with warmer days and a sense of accomplishment starting to settle in. Across the university, students are wrapping up a year defined by growth, challenge and connection, and Student Affairs is leaning into that momentum by creating meaningful opportunities for celebration.
In response to ongoing concerns about student mental health and suicide risk, the Student Health and Wellness unit within the division of Student Affairs has spearheaded the establishment of a Suicide Prevention Task Force, bringing together faculty, staff and clinical leaders from across campus to strengthen how the university supports students. The effort reflects a growing understanding that student distress is not temporary or isolated, but part of a broader, sustained pattern that continues to get in the way of students’ well-being and success.
The University of Utah Student Affairs division is continuing to strengthen its ability to understand and better support the student experience through the development of new data-informed tools. In partnership with University Analytics & Institutional Reporting (UAIR), the division has introduced a pair of dynamic dashboards that help paint a clear, more comprehensive picture of how students engage with campus opportunities and employment. These tools represent a meaningful step forward in aligning day-to-day practices with institutional priorities and student success outcomes.
