Juneteenth Holiday

University of Utah Student Affairs

The Utah Board of Higher Education approved adding Juneteenth to university calendars. The U will observe the holiday on Monday, June 20, but classes are not canceled this year. Student Affairs leaders are determining team availability, and hourly employees will be paid time and a half. The Office of the Dean of Students will assist with student inquiries if needed. An on-campus Juneteenth event is planned for June 21.

Help name our strategic plan

University of Utah Student Affairs

Student Affairs is inviting staff to submit inspiring names for its strategic plan by June 3. There is no limit to the number of ideas you can submit. The strategic plan, developed using the Balanced Scorecard model, aims to guide the future direction of Student Affairs and clearly communicate its vision, mission, and strategy.

Remembering U

The University of Utah created "Remembering U," a virtual memorial for students who have passed away. With family permission, photos and names are shared, and memories can be submitted online. This space aims to help the campus community heal.

Impactful artwork

The Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs acquired a painting through a partnership with the University Union and Ayudame Guate. Proceeds from selling the artwork benefited both the Union's Scholarship Fund and Ayudame Guate.
