As the director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the University experienced incredible growth in membership and a renewed vibrancy to the community. Through Jess’ leadership, the FSL community experienced increased retention rates, higher grade point averages, and increased levels of philanthropic service to the U and SLC community.
As Interim AVP, Kathy worked directly with the Center for Disability and Access, Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and Center for Student Wellness. In just a short time, she had a tremendous impact on our community as her leadership helped with the JED campus initiative and in adding more accessible mental health services for our students.
Dr. Lemke joined the University of Utah in 2019 and worked vigorously to create access, leadership development and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities on campus, while also building many community partnerships in Utah. Dr. Lemke has been instrumental in expanding the number of professions in the LGBT Resource Center and has led her team in reimagining and increasing the programs offered by the center.
Fa’ama’i (Fa’a) Taupa’u has been appointed as the director of the Veterans Support Center (VSC). Fa’a, who previously served as the associate director of Dining Management at University of Utah Housing and Residential Education, brings over 23 years of military experience to the role. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and an M.A. in Management and Leadership. Fa’a will begin his new role on May 23, 2022.
