Creating a Vibrant Campus Experience: Introducing the Campus Events Manager Role in Student Affairs

To amplify engagement opportunities and align with President Taylor Randall’s "College Town Magic" vision, Student Affairs has introduced the Campus Events Manager role, held by Pam Logan.
This new position is a pivotal step in advancing Student Affairs' Adapting to Student Needs strategic plan, specifically its Revitalize Engagement & Belonging initiative. Additionally, the role will support efforts for the Engagement and Belonging Task Force which was established to reimagine social programming, foster collaborative relationships, implement streamlined processes, and address current challenges. By investing in this role, Student Affairs aims to elevate the student experience through meaningful events that drive student success, build community, and deepen pride in campus traditions.
The Campus Events Manager is responsible for delivering a steady flow of impactful events, increasing student participation, streamlining coordination across the departments within and outside Student Affairs, and supporting pillar events. Pillar events are events organized for University of Utah students that serves as a cornerstone of their college experience. By managing the internal Student Affairs program calendar, this role minimizes scheduling conflicts, enhances collaboration across departments, and maximizes event impact. From large-scale events like Neon Night and Casino Night to Friday Night Hype events and smaller weekday programs, the goal is to engage thousands of students each semester while creating meaningful connections.
A dedicated role overseeing Student Affairs programs and events not only promotes student success but also enhances operational efficiency across the division. These efforts within Student Affairs will strengthen community, deepen traditions, and create lasting memories for all students.
