Delivering an outstanding value in higher education has always been of paramount importance here at the University of Utah. Our dedication in mentoring the leaders of tomorrow has resulted in a legacy of innovation and discovery.
Our global recognition as a leading research university is in part a result of our ever-growing student body whose passionate pursuit of their goals inspires our campus community to work harder and continuously invent a better future for all. Ensuring the well-being of our students is of vital importance to the U, and I am honored to lead, alongside my leadership team, a group of talented professionals who do just that. Student Affairs strives for all students to find community, support, and purpose.
Comprised of 23 individual offices, Student Affairs encourages U students to participate in the creation of their own campus culture, collaboratively working alongside professional staff, student leaders, and academic partners to ensure all members of our community not only feel welcomed but are fully incorporated into university life.
Our core purpose is to support the well-being of our students. We do this by:
- fostering a sense of belonging,
- cultivating leadership development, and
- promoting campus safety and the holistic health and wellness of the student body we serve.
On behalf of Student Affairs, I welcome you.
Lori K. McDonald, PhD
Vice President for Student Affairs
