New director of Student Affairs Assessment & Analytics

Jake Lemon will continue with Student Affairs as the director of Assessment & Analytics (A&A) after serving as interim director for the past 10 months. Prior to that, he served as the associate director of A&A, beginning in August 2021. His new role became effective Nov. 1.  

In this role, he is responsible for leading the department and ensuring that the use of business intelligence applications enhance business decision-making capabilities. He will provide leadership in implementing, tracking, and evaluating progress on the Student Affairs strategic plan; planning, organizing, directing, and controlling business intelligence functions for Student Affairs and supporting these efforts for its departments; and leading the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. 

Lemon is an adjunct professor in the Education, Leadership, and Policy program at the U, where he currently teaches the student affairs assessment course. He graduated from the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) Ph.D. program at Michigan State University and received his master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University in 2012. Lemon worked in the field of student affairs in several areas prior to attending his doctoral program.  

Lemon grew up in northwest Ohio but lived in Michigan for 10 years prior to arriving in Salt Lake City. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and visiting national parks with his partner, Lida, fly fishing, cooking, and listening to NPR podcasts.
