As we approach the upcoming election, I want to acknowledge that this period will likely have a variety of impacts on our students. Elections often highlight a range of perspectives, and it's natural that each of us may feel differently about the outcomes and discussions. During this time, I encourage everyone to approach these differences with mutual respect.

The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) at the University of Utah recently implemented organizational changes to enhance student accountability and support. These changes allow staff to improve case management, ensure timely interventions, and address the growing student population's evolving needs. Additionally, the new structure streamlines referrals and provides more specialized care to students.
The Center for Disability & Access (CDA) is excited to announce its relocation from the Union Building to the third floor of the Student Services Building (SSB). Their new space will open in late-fall after renovations are completed. During this renovation period, all student appointments, except for testing, will be conducted virtually.
Starting this fall, ODOS will take over university policy violations directly, absorbing staff members from HRE, ensuring a consistent student experience. The U will now coordinate cases at the same level within an identical system, consolidating the processes and making sure everyone is receiving the same level of care and timeliness.
