Phi Delta Theta's Utah Alpha chapter takes the court on a national stage

The Phi Delta Theta–Utah Alpha chapter proudly represented the University of Utah at the Greek Basketball Association’s (GBA) first-ever national championship tournament in November.  The team secured their place after going undefeated in the University of Utah’s local GBA league. The team went 9–0 and captured the local Utah title in dramatic fashion with a buzzer-beater win over the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. The nail-biting win earned them the seventh seed in the inaugural tournament and the right to represent the U on the national stage.

Founded in 2022 at Indiana University and supported by lead partner Mark Cuban, the Greek Basketball Association has quickly grown into a nationwide platform for fraternity basketball. This season included more than 50 universities and over 600 fraternities, with league champions advancing to a 64-team, March Madness-style tournament in Memphis, Tennessee. Utah Alpha entered the competition with an average margin of victory of 24 points and multiple features on the GBA’s national social media channels.
