FY25 Student Affairs Annual Report: Impact at a glance
Student Affairs is proud to share the FY25 Annual Report, highlighting the collective impact of the division in advancing student well-being and success at the University of Utah. This annual report serves as both a celebration of our progress and a reflection on how our work continues to evolve in response to student needs. Through stories, data, and outcomes, the report showcases how Student Affairs departments make a meaningful difference in the lives of students every day.
Guided by the Adapting to Student Needs strategic plan, the FY25 Annual Report highlights how Student Affairs advanced work across three core initiatives: Revitalize Engagement and Belonging, Optimize Access to Health and Wellness, and Create Proactive and Personalized Pathways. Together, these efforts reflect a commitment to data-informed decision-making, cross-campus collaboration, and holistic student support—ensuring programs and services remain responsive, accessible, and impactful.
Key efforts include:
- Strengthened engagement and belonging efforts by introducing an events coordinator, improving internal coordination processes, and standardizing assessment practices.
- Expanded data-informed decision-making through Campus Connect by developing the Student Engagement and Experiences Dashboard in collaboration with University Analytics and Institutional Reporting (UAIR).
- Partnered with the Student Experience Office to host large-scale events such as the Friday Night Hype series, which received an average student satisfaction rating of 9.7 out of 10.
- Launched a new Spiritual Wellness Program, expanding holistic student support through interfaith dialogue, spiritual coaching, and community-centered wellness opportunities.
- Advanced health and wellness systems through the implementation of the MedicatOne Electronic Health Record, strengthening referral pathways and coordination of care.
In addition to strategic plan progress, the annual report offers a snapshot of key updates and achievements from more than 20 Student Affairs departments. These highlights reflect the breadth of the division’s work and demonstrate how departments collectively contribute to student well-being and success across campus.
Key highlights include:
- The Bennion Center for Community Engagement contributed more than 45,000 hours of community engagement, generating an estimated $1,588,128 in economic impact for the community.
- Campus Recreation Services recorded 720,754 UCard swipes at the Eccles Student Life Center, reflecting sustained student engagement in recreation and wellness activities.
- The Center for Campus Wellness secured $68,000 in emergency funding, including $50,997 distributed by the Victim-Survivor Advocacy team and $17,100 awarded through the Basic Needs Continuation Fund.
- The Center for Community & Cultural Engagement hosted 27 cultural celebration events, welcoming more than 15,000 attendees.
- The Center for Disability & Access saw a 23% increase in new student intake and a 62% increase in proctored exams administered in FY25 compared to FY24.
- The Center for Native Excellence & Tribal Engagement recorded a 73% first-year retention rate among first-time, first-year students engaged with the center.
- The Center for Student Access & Resources increased student support funds awarded by 36%.
- The Dream Center recorded 1,654 total center visits.
- The Financial Wellness Center experienced a 111% increase in taxes filed, securing more than $506,000 in refunds for students and saving nearly $200,000 in tax preparation fees.
- The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life supported 2,140 students who participated in recruitment during FY25.
- The Office of Student Governance & Leadership experienced a record-breaking 5,900 students voting in the 2025 ASUU election, representing 25% of eligible student voters—the highest turnout in ASUU history.
- The Office of Student Leadership & Involvement recorded more than 7,000 students who joined a Registered Student Organization.
- The Student Health Center recorded a 98% patient satisfaction rate, according to post-appointment surveys.
- The Student Parent Support Center provided nearly $12,000 in essential supplies, including diapers, wipes, and more.
- The Union welcomed more than 760,000 visitors to the building.
- The University Counseling Center saw a 23% improvement in student distress levels over the course of treatment, as measured by the Counseling Center Assessment of Psychological Symptoms (CCAPS).
- The Veterans Support Center experienced a 47% increase in student utilization of resources.
