New Director for Residential Education
Student Affairs has been working closely with Auxiliary Services to begin preparing
for the University’s growth in Housing and Residential Education. President Randall’s
ambitious framework includes adding 5,000 campus beds and building a campus city where
students can find community and enjoy one-of-a-kind living-learning experiences. As
we prepare to work toward that plan, we are excited to announce that Stephen Henninger
will serve as the new director of Residential Education.
Henninger joins this role after serving as associate director of Residential Education at the University of Utah since July 2023. He brings experience in occupancy management, human resources and talent management, and residential experience programming. Henninger is particularly excited about working with colleagues within Residential Education, Student Affairs, and Auxiliary Services to support student belonging and success.
“My desire for this new era of Residential Education at the University of Utah is to build on a strong foundation that enhances student engagement across campus and develops strong professionals within the organization,” said Henninger.
Outside of work, Henninger enjoys reading, cooking new meals, and exploring Utah’s beautiful landscapes with his wife. He will also begin pursuing a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy at the U in Fall 2025.
