Apply for the Student Affairs Professional Development Scholarship
As part of our commitment to supporting lifelong learning, Student Affairs is proud to offer the Student Affairs Professional Development Scholarship for full-time staff (excluding directors and above).
By supporting professional development, we’re not only helping individuals grow in their careers—we’re strengthening our teams, enhancing student support, and building a culture values continuous growth. This scholarship aims to remove barriers and make it easier for Student Affairs staff to access meaningful professional development opportunities.
“Our division is at its best when our people are learning, growing, and feeling supported,” said Lori McDonald, vice president for Student Affairs. “This scholarship is a way to invest in the potential we see across our teams.”
This scholarship may be used for professional development opportunities taking place between July 1 and December 31, 2025—including but are not limited to:
- Conferences
- Online courses
- Memberships to professional organizations
- Workshops
- University of Utah Continuing Education courses
Please note: Matriculated tuition is not eligible.
Applications are open now through May 31.
To apply, complete this form, including a brief statement outlining your professional goals and how the opportunity supports them. Note that if the total requested amount exceeds available funds, partial awards may be offered. Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 16, 2025.
