on Oct 17 from 1:30-4 p.m. at the outdoor pool patio in the Student Life Center.
Robert Jones has dedicated over 33 years to the University of Utah's Campus Recreation Services, where he serves as the Associate Director of Adventure and Sports. Renowned for his passion for outdoor activities, Robert played a pivotal role in bringing the beloved Banff Film Festival to Utah, enriching the local community’s appreciation for adventure and the outdoors.

"I’ve watched Outdoor Adventure grow and expand. It seems that every year the numbers are bigger, the rentals are stronger, and the trips are more diverse," says Cheri Jenkins, associate director of operations for Campus Recreation Services. "Rob and his team work very hard to improve the program and make it accessible to every student on this campus, providing ways to get outdoors and improve their mental, physical, and emotional health. Rob is at the helm, steering the ship on a purposeful and exciting path that has profoundly impacted thousands of people over the years."
"Rob is a strong advocate for students, supporting and developing student staff," says John MacDonald, director of Campus Recreation Services. "He encourages students to grow their skill sets in program and facility operations through certifications and educational opportunities."
As he looks forward to retirement, Robert plans to embark on exciting travels with his wife, exploring new landscapes and cultures together. His commitment to fostering a vibrant and active campus community will leave a lasting mark on the university.
