Student Affairs Partnership with University Analytics and Institutional Reporting
Student Affairs has forged a partnership with the newly reorganized University Analytics and Institutional Reporting (UAIR) Department that will improve the ability to make data-informed decisions across the university, streamline the ability to process and request data, and support the progress of the Adapting to Student Needs strategic plan within Student Affairs.
As part of this new partnership, Student Affairs will collaborate with a team within UAIR that will be focused on supporting Student Affairs. Specifically, it will manage large-scale survey administration, data warehousing, complex analytics and dashboard creation, and other administrative responsibilities. Assessment & Analytics will no longer function as a separate department within Student Affairs. Instead, its staff will become part of the Student Affairs Strategic Initiatives Department, working more closely with the vice president’s office to support strategic planning and division-wide initiatives.
Jake Lemon, who has served as director of Assessment & Analytics since last October, will transition to become director of assessment, analytics, and planning and will be the primary liaison with the UAIR team, guiding the transition of responsibilities, leading project priorities, and bringing the Student Affairs perspective to institution-wide discussions regarding data development, use, access, and governance.
Not only does this change expand resources and capacity, but this collaboration allows us to share and connect information in new ways — allowing us to work across boundaries to support student well-being and success.
These changes are effective immediately, but it will take some time to fill the new positions on the UAIR team.
