Strategic Results Award Winners - 2023

We are excited to announce the winners of the 2023 Student Affairs Strategic Results Award: Andree Boggess, April Pavelka, Christina Kelly LeCluyse, and LeeAnn Gallegos 

 This award recognizes Student Affairs employees who go above and beyond, working to achieve one or more of our strategic results. These are defined in our strategic plan and include: 

  • Student support and advocacy: We offer caring and innovative services that facilitate holistic student wellness. 
  • Operational excellence: We engage in continuous improvement to optimize student success and maximize resources. 
  • Student engagement: We foster varied opportunities for students to develop leadership and flourish through social and community connections. 
  • Inclusive excellence: We strive to provide transformative practices and programs that enhances access, representation, and a sense of belonging that is culturally aware, and to remove barriers to success for students and staff.

April Pavelka Strategic Awards 2023April Pavelka, Associate Director for Student Accountability in the Office of the  Dean of Students, is recognized for her excellence in student support and advocacy, operational excellence, student engagement, and inclusive excellence. April understands the various challenges students face throughout their academic journey, and she actively works to address these issues with compassion and expertise. Recognizing the importance of holistic wellness, April has implemented several initiatives that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including bringing an F45 fitness studio to Campus Recreation, hosting creative wellness classes (Bob Ross paint along), and serving as a mentor to many. Thank you, April!

 

Christina Kelly LeCluyse Strategic Awards 2023Christina Kelly LeCluyse, Associate Director for Programming and Outreach in the University Counseling Center, is recognized for her excellence in student support and advocacy, as well as inclusive excellence. Christina always puts her students' needs first and relates to each person with kindness and compassion. She also provides outreach, ensuring students and faculty from all races, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities are aware of the importance of their mental health. Christina also appreciates and honors each client's cultural background, demonstrating the gift of making every student feel appreciated and heard. Thank you, Christina!

 

LeeAnn Gallegos Strategic Awards 2023LeeAnn Gallegos is the Testing and Front Desk Coordinator in the Center for Disability and Access and is recognized for her excellence in student support and advocacy, operational excellence, and inclusive excellence LeeAnn has played a pivotal role in making the testing capabilities of the CDA what they are today. Her guidance on how to efficiently use limited resources and plan ahead has made accomplishing daily tasks in the center possible. LeeAnn's streamlined system has greatly benefited students and faculty, saving time and energy for everyone involved. Thank you, LeeAnn!

 

Andree Boggess Strategic Awards 2023Andree Boggess, Administrative Manager for Union Events and Scheduling, is recognized for her operational excellence. She highly values the importance of student engagement and interaction. Andree goes above and beyond to assist student groups with little to no experience in booking rooms and holding events, collaborating with them and offering ideas to make their events more successful. Particularly exceptional in reaching out to other departments on behalf of the students, she facilitates potential partnerships when opportunities arise. Andree's loving and caring nature shines through as a colleague, making the Union and Student Affairs better by bringing her immense talents and work ethic to the University. Thank you, Andree!
