Network Support Changes

Student Affairs Network Support is now an embedded department within University Information Technology (UIT), effective January 1, 2023. Student Affairs employees can expect the same level of service and will work with many of the same people, but the way to submit a request is different.

Ticket Submissions

There are two types of ticket submission scenarios: request tickets and incident tickets. A request ticket is when you need something done, but it is not a break/fix scenario. An incident ticket is used to report break/fix issues.

Request Ticket Options

  • Call the help desk. This is the quickest way to submit a request ticket. Call 801-581-4000 and choose option 1.
  • Submit ticket online. Using your CIS credentials, submit a request ticket directly to the University Campus Computer Support team (UCCS).
  • Email the help desk. This is the slowest method of getting a ticket entered. A ticket may not reach UCCS for 1-2 business days. Helpdesk@utah.edu

Incident Ticket Options

  • Call the help desk. This is the quickest way to submit an incident ticket. Call 801-581-4000 and choose option 1.
  • Submit ticket online. Using your CIS credentials, submit a request ticket directly to the University Campus Computer Support team (UCCS).
