Join the Professional Development Committee
The Student Affairs Professional Development Committee is looking for new members to help with two important projects. The committee will focus on:
- Developing a consistent onboarding and offboarding program for Student Affairs, including updating and implementing the new employee orientation component; as well as
- Creating a training and professional development curriculum for Student Affairs personnel, focusing on curating existing training and compliance resources, as well as developing some customized options.
Committee members will meet monthly for updates, feedback and guidance, with sub-committees expected to hold additional working times throughout the month. It is anticipated that members will serve on the committee for a minimum of two years and will dedicate about five to seven hours per month to this endeavor. These projects are an integral part of our strategic plan, specifically supporting the objectives of “improving staff experience” and “improving management and practices.”
If you are interested in being part of this important work, collaborating with colleagues, and expanding your professional development experiences, please let us know. We are specifically looking for individuals who represent a variety of perspectives and experiences in Student Affairs in order to develop thoughtful and inclusive onboarding/offboarding systems and training/professional development programs. Specifically, we’re looking for those in manger, administrative, and budget/finance roles, individuals with knowledge about disability and access, those with an interest in staff involvement and morale, as well as hourly and stuff positions.
