Farewell Kathy!

Kathy MacKayThis week we said farewell to Kathleen "Kathy" MacKay, who served as the Interim Associate Vice President for Student Health and Wellness for Student Affairs for the past 11 months.

As Interim AVP, Kathy worked directly with the Center for Disability and Access, Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and Center for Student Wellness. In just a short time, she had a tremendous impact on our community as her leadership helped with the JED campus initiative and in adding more accessible mental health services for our students.

Kathy grew up in Boulder, Colorado. She was never going to attend college but started her first year as a student at 20 years old and has been on a college campus ever since. She has worked primarily as an administrator for about 40 years, while she taught in the master's program in Educational, Leadership, and Policy Studies at Indiana University and worked as an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University and Iowa State University. Prior to joining us, she served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Share your congrats and farewells to Kathy here.

We are now in the process of hiring an AVP for Health & Wellness. We anticipate that finalists will be on campus during the last week of July. We will share more information soon on how Student Affairs staff will be able to meet and provide feedback on the candidates.
