Mental Health First Aid Certification
Student Affairs is committed to the holistic well-being and emotional support of our campus community. Thanks to the generous grant from the Huntsman Mental Health Institute, the Center for Student Wellness provides Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training for interested students, staff, and faculty. Similar to a medical first aid training, MHFA is an international education program proven to be effective in teaching adults how to recognize and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.
Trainings are eight hours and are currently being offered virtually. Training consists of:
- 2 hour self-paced online module (completed prior to virtual instruction)
- 6 hour virtual instruction via Zoom (broken up into 2x3.5-hour segments)
Please contact the Center for Student Wellness to request training at firstname.lastname@example.org.
