Travel Scholarship

The Vice-President of Student Affairs and the Professional Development Committee will be sponsoring several scholarships over the coming year for exempt staff to enhance their professional development. A maximum of $500 will be made per individual per year. The following criteria will apply:

  1. Scholarships will be awarded two times per year. Awards will be given based on the application date, not the actual conference date. However, reimbursement will not be made without receipts. Applications are available below and completed forms should be returned to Professional Development Committee at pdc.utah.edu, by 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date.
  2. A maximum award of $500 will be made per individual per year, not exceeding half of the total cost of the event.
  3. Applicants must submit the completed application, signed by both the participant and the Director (Directors are not eligible for this scholarship). They must also submit a written response to the application question and any supporting materials for consideration. This would include a conference brochure, abstract or acceptance letter for conference presentation, letter describing their professional role in the conference, etc.).
  4. The Professional Development Committee will meet to review applications at the next PDC Meeting (scheduled twice a month) following the deadline. Awards will be announced as soon as possible to allow savings on registration, flights, hotels, etc. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by letter (and, of course, encouraged to try again).
